Hello!

Welcome to Lakeland Wedding Art! My name is Jo and I’m a professional artist and illustrator. I‘m based in Grange-over-Sands, and work across Cumbria, the Lake District and Lancashire. I love painting and drawing people, animals and places, using inks and my distinctive minimal style of working. My main aim is to capture the energy and personality of a subject, or a moment in time, through beautiful art. My live illustrations are perfect for weddings, birthdays, christenings, any special event where guests would love a beautiful keepsake.

How live wedding illustration works

I’ll set up my painting station with plenty of time. All I need is a sturdy table and a chair, and I’m ready to paint! The guests are then invited to come up to me at any point during my booking and request their portrait. With the help of a quick photo (which allows them to go and enjoy their time) I’ll aim to create their unique portrait within 15 minutes. As each portrait is completed it goes up onto the gallery board until the guest is ready to come and take it.

All portraits are A5 ink and watercolour sketches on good quality paper, sealed inside a clear protective sleeve.

I offer 3 packages to suit your event, with each package named after some of our stunning Lake District gems, and there are additional features in some of the packages, such as cake portraits. Check out the Pricing page for these.
